Measuring & Load Capacity Guides

This is Scottie
the skid-steer loader

Scottie gives you a 1/2 cubic yard per scoop

That’s 80 sq ft. at 2″ deep

When planning out a project, please measure the volume of what you need to fill before purchase. Multiply Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Depth (inches) to calculate the total cubic yard(s) needed.

We recommend using this landscape calculator as a guide.

If you’re a visual learner—you can relax the math is over. Instead we have tips:

  1. A standard-size truck bed can hold up to 2 scoops (1 cubic yard) of most weighted material at a time (See our cheat sheet below).
  2. Once home or at your project site, spread out the material. Then you should decide if another load is needed.

We’ve found the info below to be accurate in most cases. If you’re still uncertain about how much to buy, we can always load your vehicle first before you checkout.
